Valley Haggard is the founder and director of Richmond Young Writers, a year-round creative writing program for students, and teaches creative nonfiction workshops and retreats for adults at Chop Suey Books, Black Swan Books, and the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. She served as Style Weekly’s book editor from 2004–2011, served on the board of the James River Writers from 2008–2011, and has written regularly for various publications.  Haggard currently has a monthly column in Belle, Style Weekly’s magazine for women.
