John Englehardt, and his debut novel, Bloomland (Dzanc Books, 2019), is the winner of the 2020 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. His work has appeared in Entropy, The Southern Review, and Vol.1 Brooklyn. Bloomland won the Dzanc Prize for Fiction, was a September Indie Next pick, and named by Kirkus Reviews as one of the best books of the year. He holds an MFA from University of Arkansas, and currently teaches creative writing at Hugo House. Englehardt is a writer and educator from the Pacific Northwest.
