Jamila Minnicks is the author of Moonrise Over New Jessup (forthcoming from Algonquin Books, 2023), winner of the 2021 PEN/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction. Her work has appeared in CRAFT, Catapult, and The Write Launch, among others. In 2022, she earned a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and was awarded a Tennessee Williams scholarship at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, the Howard University School of Law, and the Georgetown University Law Center.
