Aimee Bender is the author of a novel, An Invisible Sign of My Own (Doubleday, 2000), and two collections of short stories, Willful Creatures (Doubleday, 2005; Anchor, 2006) and The Girl in the Flammable Skirt (Doubleday, 1998). Her stories have appeared in such journals as The Paris Review, Harper’s, GQ, Granta, Fence, and McSweeney’s. She has been featured on National Public Radio’s This American Life.

Bender has received two Pushcart Prizes, and her work has been translated into seven languages. She lives in Los Angeles and teaches in the PhD program in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Southern California.
