Penny Lane’s film and video work have been screened at numerous festivals, including International Film Festival Rotterdam, AFI FEST, San Francisco International Film Festival, Women in the Director’s Chair, MoMA’s “Documentary Fortnight,” New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival, Athens International Film and Video Festival, Choice USA, and the Iowa City Documentary Film Festival where she received the “Most Badass!” award. Lane has received production grants from several foundations, including the New York State Council on the Arts, the LEF Foundation, and The Puffin Foundation. She is a visiting lecturer at Williams College in Massachusetts.
