Justin Torres’s debut novel, We the Animals (Houghton Mifflin, 2011), was the winner of the 2012 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Harper’s Magazine, Tin House, and Glimmer Train. He received a 2012 National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” Award, and was the recipient of a 2010–2012 Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford and a 2009 Rolón Fellowship in Literature from United States Artists. Torres is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and is a Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.
