On March 2, 2016, poet and essayist Anna Journey and poet David St. John came to Scott House as a part of VCU’s Visiting Writers Series. Journey read from various collections of poetry, including The Atheist Wore Goat Silk (forthcoming from LSU Press, 2017), and If Birds Gather Your Hair for Nesting (University of Georgia Press, 2009), which was selected for the National Poetry Series. St. John read from his newest collection, The Auroras (HarperCollins, 2012) and from Larry Levis’s The Darkening Trapeze: Last Poems (Graywolf Press, 2016), which he edited.
