Jorge Miguel Benitez holds an MFA in painting from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he teaches drawing, art theory, and the history of visual communications. His writing has been published in The New Art Examiner, The International Journal of the Arts in Society: Annual Review, and elsewhere. His work is represented in corporate collections, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and the Marine Corps Museum.
