Matthew Phipps was the 2013–14 Cabell First Novelist Fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received an MFA in fiction. He is now the communications manager for Asymptote and a fiction reader for Electric Literature. He has taught at New Jersey City University and the City University of New York, and his reviews and interviews have appeared in Broad Street and Blackbird.
