Hanna Pylväinen is the author of We Sinners (Henry Holt & Co., 2012), which received the Whiting Writers’ Award. Her work has appeared in Harper’s Magazine, the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Wall Street Journal. She is the recipient of residencies at The MacDowell Colony and Yaddo, and fellowships at the University of Michigan (where she received her MFA) and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. She is an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University.
