Nicky Beer is the author of two books from Carnegie Mellon University Press: The Octopus Game (2015) and The Diminishing House (2010), both winners of the Colorado Book Award for Poetry. Her other awards include a 2007 fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a 2008 Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, a 2016 Mary Wood Fellowship from Washington College, and a 2017 fellowship from the MacDowell Colony. She is an associate professor at the University of Colorado Denver, where she serves as a poetry editor for Copper Nickel.
