J.D. Scrimgeour is the author of three books of poetry, most recently Lifting the Turtle (Turning Point, 2017). His essays have appeared in such publications as Boston Globe Magazine, Chronicle of Higher Education, Creative Nonfiction, and Solstice. He won the AWP Award for Nonfiction for Themes for English B: A Professor’s Education In & Out of Class (University of Georgia Press, 2007).
