Kovid Gupta is the author of two nonfiction books, Kingdom of the Soap Queen: The Story of Balaji Telefilms (HarperCollins, 2014) and Redrawing India: The Teach for India Story (Random House, 2014). His short story, “Reincarnation,” was published in The Broadkill Review in 2018. As a screenwriter, Gupta has written over 1,000 episodes for some of India’s most successful television shows. Gupta was featured on Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 List in 2017 and was also conferred with The University of Texas at Austin’s Alumni Rising Star Award in 2019. In 2018, he founded Kovid Gupta Films with the mission of producing pathbreaking cinema and television. Gupta holds a BBA, BA, and BS from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Cornell University.
