William Luvaas has published two novels, Going
Under (Putnam, 1994) and The Seductions of Natalie Bach (Little
Brown, 1986). His stories, essays, and articles have appeared in
many publications, including American Fiction VolumeNine, Glimmer
Train, The Village Voice, Confrontation, Cosmopolitan; Harper's
Weekly, The Sun, Open Spaces, Short
Story, Thema, American Literary Review, Vignette,
and The Washington Post Book World. Stories are
forthcoming in The Antioch Review and Square Lake, as well as in
an anthology of New Wave Fabulist fiction from Omnidawn. His story "The
Firewood Wars" was co-winner of Fiction Network's second national
fiction competition, and his work has been a finalist in several
other national contests. He recently completed a new novel, Welcome
to Saint Angel. Luvaas teaches creative writing at San Diego State
University.
