Since
1983, his paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions
at a variety of venues, including Reynolds Gallery in Richmond,
Virginia, Hartell Gallery at Cornell University, 1708 Gallery in
Richmond, Holden Gallery at Warren Wilson College in Ashville,
North Carolina, the Virginia
Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, the Armory Gallery at Virginia
Tech, the Fine Arts Building Gallery at Virginia Commonwealth University,
the Crandall Gallery at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio,
and the Contemporary Art Center at Virginia Beach.
Paul Ryan’s paintings and drawings are
in numerous public and private collections. He is also an art critic
and since 1990 has been a contributing editor for Art Papers
Magazine. He is currently the director of Mary Baldwin College's
Hunt Gallery. He earned a BA in English from Principia College,
and an MFA in painting and drawing from The School of the Arts
at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a professsor of Art
at Mary Baldwin College. |
