Joshua Eckhardt, a contributing editor of Blackbird's Gallery, teaches early modern English literature at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is completing a study of early-seventeenth-century verse collectors and their manuscript poetry anthologies. He has published articles in Huntington Library Quarterly and in the British Library's Elizabeth I and the Culture of Writing.
