Myron Helfgott trained in architecture and studied with R. Buckminster Fuller, then received his MFA from Southern Illinois University. He has exhibited at the Whitney in New York City, the Philadelphia Arts Alliance, Usdan Gallery at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont, the Peninsula Arts Center in Norfolk, Virginia, and the prestigious “Un/Common Ground” show at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. He has also exhibited in Tokyo, Lima, and Glasgow, and has received two grants from the Virginia Commission for the Arts. His exhibition at the Anderson Gallery entitled “Myron Helfgott: An Inventory of My Thoughts” presented over 50 works and covered 45 years of production. His sculptures incorporate audio, kinetics, photography, and assemblage.
