Liza Wieland is the author of four novels, including Land of Enchantment (Syracuse University Press, 2015), A Watch of Nightingales (University of Michigan Press, 2009), and Bombshell (Southern Methodist University Press, 2001). She has written a book of poems, Near Alcatraz (Cherry Grove Collections, 2005), and three collections of short fiction, most recently Quickening (Southern Methodist University Press, 2011). She has been the recipient of two Pushcart Prizes as well as fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council. Wieland is a professor of English at East Carolina University.
