Laura Van Prooyen’s second collection of poems, Our House Was on Fire (Ashland Poetry Press, 2015), won the 2014 Robert McGovern Publication Prize; it was nominated by Philip Levine. Van Prooyen teaches creative writing at Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design.
