Dinah Ryan has been a contributing editor for
Art Papers Magazine since 1992. Her essays and reviews about
contemporary visual art and culture appear frequently in Art
Papers, Sculpture, Fiberarts, and other periodicals.
In recent articles, she has examined contemporary Gothicism, the
relationship between visual art and science, and the idea of domesticity
in contemporary art. Also a fiction writer, she received her MFA
from the University of Virginia in 1997. She lives in Staunton,
Virginia, and teaches in the English and art departments at Mary
Baldwin College.
