Louise Mathias was born in England and educated at the University of Southern California. Her poems have appeared in Boulevard, Epoch, Green Mountains Review, Salt Hill, Quarterly West, Hunger Mountain, Prairie Schooner, and the yearly anthology Shade. Lark Apprentice, her first collection of poems, will be published by New Issues Press in 2004.
