Cathryn Hankla is the author of ten books of poetry and fiction, including the novel, The Land Between (Baskerville, 2003), and Last Exposures: a Sequence of Poems (Louisiana State University, 2004), from which these poems are taken. She is the poetry editor for The Hollins Critic and Professor of English at Hollins University.
