KARINA PEISAJOVICH | Painting, Light, & Shadow
This painting and the next one were painted in 2000, and at that time I was already experimenting with light, projecting lights on the wall. I think what happened is that I needed to use more space for painting. I needed to go out from the canvas. The canvas started to be a little oppressive, and I had other thoughts that were impossible to be done in a two-dimensional surface.

I also wanted to change my habits, very simply to do other stuff and to see how I react with other processes of work. I mean the painting was putting myself in a kind of process, so I started to experiment with the processes that I used to do these paintings—photography and using the projector to transfer the images on the canvas.
