| Joshua Poteat is the author of Ornithologies (Anhinga, 2006), winner of the 2004 Anhinga Poetry  Prize; the chapbook Meditations (Poetry Society of America, 2004), winner of the Poetry Society of America’s  National Chapbook Award; and Illustrating  the Machine that Makes the World: From J.G. Heck’s 1851 Pictoral Archive of  Nature and Science, forthcoming from the University of Georgia Press as  part of the Contemporary Poets Series.
