Fritz Ward received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he served as poetry editor for The Greensboro Review. He is a recipient of the Cecil Hemley Memorial Prize from the Poetry Society of America, and was included in Best New Poets 2007 (University of Virginia Press, 2007). His poems have appeared in American Letters & Commentary, Swink, Salt Hill, Columbia: A Journal of Literature & Art, The Journal, and DIAGRAM.
