Steven Glass earned a BS from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been resident potter at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts since 1982. He studied French language and culture at the Centre d’Etudes Franco-Americain in Lisieux, France, and architectural ceramics with Nino Caruso in Rome, Italy. He has been the Artist-in-Residence at both the Rufford Craft Centre in Nottinghamshire, England, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Glass has lectured and exhibited internationally, most recently with solo exhibitions in the Republic of Korea and London, England. His work and essays have appeared in Ceramics: Art and Perception, Ceramics Monthly, American Craft, and La Céramique Moderne, among others.
