Levis Remembered  |

| This issue of Blackbird introduces six previously unpublished poems by the inestimable Larry Levis, from The Darkening Trapeze: The Uncollected Poems of Larry Levis (forthcoming from Graywolf Press, 2015). The reading loop also features the work of this year’s Levis Reading Prize winner, Michael McGriff. The prize is given annually by the Levis family and VCU’s Department of English to a promising poet for their first or second published book. |

| On March 7, 2013, Blackbird and diode hosted an off-site poetry reading at Sweetwater Tavern during the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Annual Conference in Boston. Poets Traci Brimhall, Andrea Cohen, Tarfia Faizullah, Bob Hicok, Jamaal May, Catherine Pierce, Liana Quill, Brynn Saito, David Wojahn, and C. Dale Young all read from their original work. |
