Paula Champa is the author of the novel The Afterlife of Emerson Tang (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013), which was selected as a Notable Design Book of 2013 by Designers & Books. Her short fiction has appeared in a number of literary journals and in the anthology The Way We Work (Vanderbilt University Press, 2008). She is the recipient of a 2010 residency at the European Translation Center’s House of Literature in Paros, Greece, and a 1998 Individual Artist’s Grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She earned her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and her BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
