Stanley Plumly's work has been honored with
the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award and nominations for the National
Book Critics Circle Award, the William Carlos Williams Award, and
the Academy of American Poets' Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. He
has received a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship,
National Endowment for the Arts Awards, Pushcart Prizes, an Ingram-Merrill
Foundation Award, and an Academy Award in Literature from the American
Academy of Arts and Letters. Plumly's most recent book is Now
That My Father Lies Down Beside Me: New and Selected Poems, 1970-2000.
He has taught at many universities around the country, including
the Universities of Iowa, Michigan, and Washington; Ohio University;
Princeton; Columbia; the University of Houston; and New York University.
He is currently a Distinguished University Professor and Professor
of English at the University of Maryland.
