King of Postcards: on Aleš Debeljak
Andrew Zawacki is the author of the poetry books Unsun : f/11 (Coach House Books, 2019), Videotape (Counterpath, 2013), Petals of Zero Petals of One (Talisman House, 2009), Anabranch (Wesleyan University Press, 2004), and By Reason of Breakings (University of Georgia Press, 2002). His work has appeared in The Nation, The New Republic, The New Yorker, and elsewhere. Four of his books have been published in France. His translation of Sébastien Smirou’s See About (La Presse, 2017) earned a 2015 National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship in translation and a fellowship from the Centre National du Livre, and his translation of Smirou’s, My Lorenzo (Burning Deck, 2013), received a French Voices Grant. A 2016 Howard Foundation fellow in poetry, Zawacki teaches at the University of Georgia.
