Susan Garrett is the
author of two works of nonfiction, Miles to Go: Aging in Rural
Virginia (University of Virginia, 1998) and Taking Care of
Our Own: A Year in the Life of a Small Hospital (Dutton, 1995),
and is currently at work on a memoir about early-twentieth-century
photographers. Her work has also appeared in the online journal
Archipelago. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Virginia Holman has contributed to DoubleTake,
Redbook, Self, USA Today, and The Washington
Post. In 2001, a portion of Rescuing Patty Hearst appeared
in DoubleTake under the title "Homesickness" and
won a Pushcart Prize.
