Amy G. Moorefield has been the Assistant Director and Curator of Collections for Virginia Commonwealth University’s Anderson Gallery since 1997 and holds the faculty rank of Assistant Professor. Since the fall of 2005, she has taken on the interim leadership role of directing the Gallery. Moorefield has directed several national and international exhibitions and publication projects as well as organized an array of special programs, lectures and panels. Over the past ten years, she has curated dozens of exhibitions for the Gallery including the critically acclaimed exhibitions: Transformer; Gerald Donato: Reinventing the Game; Bob Paris: Disturbance; Bad Boys; Origins; Works on Paper by Theresa Pollak; Making Faces: Portraiture in Photography; Time, Memory and Meditation: Works by Jim Campbell; and Shared Roots. Additionally, she is the author of several exhibition publications. Moorefield has served as a juror, lecturer, and independent curator for several exhibitions, conferences and arts festivals in the United States and abroad.
