Stephen Westfall is a painter and contributing writer for Art in America. The recipient of three fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and two from the New York State Council of the Arts, Westfall has exhibited his paintings nationally and internationally. His works are included in the collections of Bon Marché in Paris, the Albertina Museum in Vienna and the Baltimore Museum of Art. In addition to Art in America, his writings have appeared in Vogue, The New York Times, Arts, Art News, the Partisan Review, and the New Criterion. Westfall’s awards and honors also include a 2007 Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship; a 2006 Nancy Graves Foundation Grant; being named the Class of 1932 Fellow of the Council of Humanities, from Princeton University for 2005; and a 2002 Academy Award in Painting from the American Academy of Arts & Letters. He lives and works in New York.
