Constance Adler lives and writes in New Orleans. Her work has been published in Utne Reader, Spy, Philadelphia Magazine, and Baltimore Magazine, among others. In New Orleans, she has written for Gambit Weekly and Scat. The Louisiana Press Association has honored her writing with a first place award for individual feature writing. She also teaches a creative writing class of her own design called Bayou Writing Workshop.
Her essay “Season of Miracles” is excerpted from her unpublished memoir My Bayou: New Orleans Through the Eyes of a Lover. Excerpts have also appeared in Bayou Magazine and in Oxford American.
