Michele Poulos teaches English, fiction, and poetry at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond. She was a finalist for Crab Orchard Review’s 2008 Charles Johnson Student Fiction Award. Her poetry has been published in storySouth and her review of Darnell Arnoult’s novel, Sufficient Grace (Free Press, 2006), appears in the Spring 2007 issue of Blackbird. She is a two-time nominee for inclusion in the anthology Best New American Voices (Harvest Books, 2008 and 2009). Poulos was also nominated for the AWP Intro Journal Award (2007), and was awarded VCU’s David Baldacci Fiction Fellowship for 2006–2007. She is currently working on a screenplay.
