1918 Suite: Enough of Us Still and Brave Enough
Rowland Kenney (1882–1961) was an author, journalist, and British propaganda agent operating in Norway during both the First World War and the Second World War. In 1912, he became the first editor of the Daily Herald. Kenney helped in the development of propaganda policy and practice. In the First World War, his work in Norway, undercover as a Reuter’s correspondent, resulted in thousands of pro-British articles appearing in the Norwegian press. After World War II, he was honored by both the Norwegian and British governments as a Knight of the Order of St. Olaf and a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. His books include Men and Rails (T. Fisher Unwin, 1913), A Pedlar’s Pack (Jonathan Cape, 1923), Westering (J.M. Dent and Sons, 1939), and The Northern Tangle (J.M. Dent and Sons, 1946).
