Sarah Rose Nordgren is the author of two poetry collections, Darwin’s Mother (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2017), and Best Bones (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2014), winner of the Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize. Her poems, essays, and multimedia works appear widely in periodicals such as American Poetry Review, the Kenyon Review Online, Ploughshares, and TriQuarterly. Among her awards are two winter fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, a 2014 Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council, and fellowships and scholarships from the Sewanee and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conferences, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Nordgren earned her doctorate from University of Cincinnati where she also received a Graduate Certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
