Leona Sevick is the author of Lion Brothers (Press 53, 2017), winner of the 2017 Press 53 Poetry Award. Her poems appear in Birmingham Poetry Review, Crab Orchard Review, Four Way Review, and the Southeast Review. Her work also appears in The Golden Shovel Anthology: New Poems Honoring Gwendolyn Brooks (University of Arkansas Press, 2017). Sevick was named a 2019 Walter E. Dakin Fellow for the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. She is provost at Bridgewater College in Virginia, where she teaches Asian American literature, and she serves on the advisory board of the Furious Flower Black Poetry Center.
