A past Ruth Lilly National Collegiate Poetry Convocation participant, Karen Maceira has had poems in Beloit Poetry Journal, the New Orleans Review, Negative Capability, The Christian Science Monitor, Earth's Daughters, Spinning Jenny, and The English Journal. She has also had reviews in the Harvard Review, as well as a cover essay on Galway Kinnell in The Hollins Critic. A native of New Orleans, Maceira completed an MFA at Penn State in 1996 and now teaches high school English in Pearl River, Louisiana. She is seeking a publisher for her collection, The Unknown.
