Sean Nevin teaches creative writing at Arizona
State University, where he also serves as assistant director of
the Young Writer’s Program and as the education and outreach
coordinator for the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing.
He is editor of 22 Across: An Anthology for Young Writers.
His own poetry has appeared in numerous journals, including: The
Gettysburg Review, Poet Lore, 5AM, JAMA, Runes,
and Hayden's Ferry Review. His awards include an Academy of American
Poets Prize, first prize
in The Alsop Review Poetry Competition, and a fellowship from the
Arizona Commission on the Arts. His poetry has been choreographed
and performed by Tsukayama Dance Theater (TDC) and other modern
dance companies in both New York and Arizona. His first poetry
manuscript was recently named a finalist for the Agnes Lynch Starrett
Prize from University of Pittsburgh Press and the Stan and Tom
Wick Prize from Kent State University.
