Jon Pineda is the author of two poetry collections, Birthmark (Southern Illinois University Press, 2003), which won the Crab Orchard Award Series in Poetry Open Competition; and The Translator's Diary, which won the 2007 Green Rose Prize for Poetry and is scheduled for publication in 2008. Pineda teaches in the low-residency MFA program at Queens University of Charlotte. He is a graduate of James Madison University, and studied in the MFA program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Pineda lives in Norfolk, Virginia.
