Since our last morning together
this bird has taken to my balcony
defining the emptiness with his song.
At midmorning
his arousal for his female peaks
and he releases his love toward the trees
and the nests tucked
within cracks in the nearby walls.
He searches for her everywhere
while she
waits for him on her branch
not making a single move
as if she is certain
that he reads her silence
in the way she wishes him to.  end
