Michaux Dempster holds an MA in writing and rhetoric and an MFA in fiction from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also holds degrees from Auburn University and Louisiana State University. Dempster has taught at Hampden–Sydney College and is a member of the faculty in the Focused Inquiry Department at Virginia Commonwealth University.
