Emily Vizzo is a San  Diego poet, editor, educator, and author of the essay, “A Personal History of  Dirt,” which was noted in Best American Essays 2013. Vizzo’s work has been published or  is forthcoming in FIELD, The Journal, North American Review, and The Normal School. Vizzo serves as assistant managing  editor at Drunken Boat, and volunteers with VIDA: Women in Literary  Arts, Poetry International, and Hunger  Mountain. She earned  her MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts and teaches yoga at the University of  San Diego.
