Hala Alyan is the author of three collections of poetry: Hijra (Southern Illinois University Press, 2016), Four Cities (Black Lawrence Press, 2015), and Atrium (Three Rooms Press, 2012). Her debut novel, Salt Houses, was published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2017. Her work has appeared in The Missouri Review, Prairie Schooner, Guernica, and others. Hijra received the Open Competition Award from Crab Orchard Review in 2015, and Atrium was awarded the Arab American Book Award in Poetry in 2013.
