Henk Rossouw is the author of the book-length poem Xamissa (forthcoming from Fordham University Press, 2018), which won the Poets Out Loud Editor’s Prize. Best American Experimental Writing 2018 (Wesleyan University Press, 2018) featured an excerpt, and Akashic Books with the African Poetry Book Fund included part of Xamissa in the chapbook boxset New-Generation African Poets (Tano). He earned his PhD in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston, where he served as a poetry editor for Gulf Coast. He’s an assistant professor of creative writing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
