Serhiy Zhadan is a Ukrainian writer who has published over a dozen books. English translations of his poetry have appeared in the New Yorker, Virginia Quarterly Review, Poetry International, and Asymptote. He has received the 2015 Angelus Central European Literature Award, the 2014 Jan Michalski Prize for Literature, the 2014 Brücke Berlin Prize, the 2009 Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski Literary Award, the 2006 Hubert Burda Prize for young eastern European poets, and the BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year award in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
