John Hoppenthaler will be featured as
a "Poet Among Us" at this year's Dodge Poetry Festival.
His poetry has recently appeared or is forthcoming in The Southern
Review, Chelsea, Pleiades, Tar River Poetry, Margie, and the
anthology September 11, 2001: American Writers Respond, edited
by William Heyen. His first book of poetry, Lives Of Water,
will be published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2003. He
is currently editing a collection of essays and interviews on the
poetry of Jean Valentine, which is scheduled to be published by
Wesleyan University Press in 2003. He is poetry editor of Kestrel.
