John Casteen is the author of two books of poetry: For the Mountain Laurel (forthcoming in April 2011) and Free Union (2009), both published by the University of Georgia Press as part of the VQR Poetry Series. His poetry appears in The Paris Review, Shenandoah, and Ploughshares and is anthologized in The Best American Poetry 2008 (Scribner). Casteen teaches at Sweet Briar College and serves on the editorial staff of The Virginia Quarterly Review.
