David Keplinger is the author of three books, most recently The Prayers of Others (New Issues, 2006), which won the 2006 Colorado Book Award. He is the recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the T.S. Eliot Prize, and awards from the Danish Arts Council and the SOROS Foundation. He is the director of the MFA program in creative writing at American University.
